The Zip Code of Predictable Miracles

“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.”
~ Albert Einstein

An amazing thing happened to me last Saturday.

I was scheduled to facilitate a support group gathering via telephone for members of the Prosperity Partnership Program. (For more about this great program, check out www.ChoosingProsperity.com .) The night before I had prepared for the call and set my alarm. I always look forward to facilitating this group because there is so much delightful wisdom, insights and healing that occurs on these calls. For me, since the call happens first thing in the morning in my time zone, I have always considered it to be a wonderful way to begin my day.

However, I had no idea I was as tired as I was perhaps due to the the Daylight Savings time change here in North America (always a rough adjustmentfor my internal clock the first week or so of the change) on top of a hectic pace of late. So come Saturday morning, I was sleeping away and, all of a sudden, I heard what I thought was my housemate’s voice at the door of my room, saying to me: “Don’t you have a class to teach?” I jumped out of bed in a panic with the realization that I had overslept by 15 minutes. Somehow I probably had unconsciously turned off my alarm. As quickly as possible, and in a befuddled state, I called the class bridge line thinking I had probably missed everyone on the call and feeling terrible about that. It was like one of those bad dreams where you have studied for a crucial final exam and then you miss it by oversleeping.

The first miracle was that everyone who was supposed to attend the call was mercifully still on the line. The participants had spontaneously decided to stick around and just chat with each other…bless their hearts. They generously accepted my apologies and we went on to experience the full hour of the support group. So, thankfully, all was well.

But the second miracle was the source of amazement. After the call, I went to thank my housemate for waking me up. But what I found was that she was just getting up from having slept in herself and so she was not the one who woke me earlier. There are no other people in the house, so who was that very real presence in myroom that whispered to me that Ineeded to wake up to be on the call? I heard the voice clearlyand felt the physical presence of someone.

Well…Ican only assume it was an “angel”…perhaps one the participants in the support group conjured to get me to the call :~) or my own guardian. Whatever the case, it is incredible evidence of how protected we are and how our connection to Source can guide us from moment to moment.

Some of you may have been attracted to listening to the Oprah / Eckhart Tolle 10-week course on his book A New Earth which began 3 weeks ago. Tolle talks about how the daily willingness to access the stillness within and the present moment “aliveness within you” (that, for him, is another name for Source Energy) ensures a “peace that passeth understanding” and all the guidance we could possibly want. The peace he speaks of is a “knowing” that all is well no matter what your external circumstances and thus everything is unfolding as it should from moment to moment when you are aligned with Source.

In the Prosperity Partnership Program (for which I teach the advanced and certification programs), we talk about the fact that, if you are daily nurturing an alignment with Source in all of its manifestations trusting that everything you want can be part of an easy flow, then predictable miracles are the order of the day. Synchronicities and coincidences occur to guide us for our next steps to achieve our intentions in our personal lives or in our work. The perfect space appears in an overcrowded parking lot. And angels bail us out when we oversleep. Very cool !!

What I was reminded of Saturday is that when we trust that we are aligned with Source then, as Tolle writes, we recognize we are the space in which miracles occur and, as the Buddha taught, we already are the miracle we seek.

“I am the miracle.
